Celebrity inspiration for gala red carpet

March 5, 2015 Posted by admin PEM BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

The annual Met Gala witnesses a regular array of designer duds, from the subtle and chic to the truly avante garde. While Suki Waterhouse’s tiered Burberry dress or Katie Holmes’ ruched and wrinkled Marchesa gown may be a bit much for the 4th annual Business Achievement Awards gala red carpet (although we certainly won’t stop you from working those looks!) a few celebrities provided great inspiration for how to rock the red carpet with elegance and flair.

    KEEP IT CLEAN

When getting done-up for a red carpet debut, it can be hard to resist the urge to go full peacock. Actress Hailee Steinfeld proves that you can achieve a striking look without an explosion of colors, fabric or actual feathers. The “True Grit” star shines in a sculpted, black and white-blocked ball gown by Prabal Gurung.

Get the Look:  Ala Moana’s White House Black Market is the perfect place to find monochromatic formalwear. Pair your dress with subtle makeup and a simple, center-parted updo.  If you can’t resist a pop of color, complete the ensemble with a colored heel or accessory.

Dressing for a formal affair doesn’t necessitate jewels and a floor-length gown. “Underworld” actress Kate Beckinsale makes a bold statement with color and cut in this red asymmetrical dress by Alberta Ferretti.

Get the Look: Choose a peplum or asymmetrical-style, knee-length dress in a bright shade for a bit of flair. Pair this with solid-colored, open-toe heels – don’t be afraid to rock that pedicure in black or another dark shade of polish! Make your look especially edgy with smoky eyes, a teased updo and a heavy statement earring.
