I wish more women dressed up in suits. It gets written off as
unconventionally sexy, but to be quite honest there is nothing more
striking than a woman in a sharply tailored blazer+trouser combo. Not to
be mistaken with office-wear, dressing up a suit for a Gala is quite
simple and can be done in 3 easy steps.
Step 1: Feminine Silk Shirt
– For evening attire, I’d push for a silk shirt that’s understated
enough to balance the suit out but equally detailed enough that it
doesn’t look like you’re simply going to the office (hint: ruffles).
other helpful shirting details would be embellishments, beading, or
shirt with lace trim.
Step 2: Mirror Clutch
– One of my favorite trends is a bit more futuristic, but in small
doses, the mirror effect on this clutch feels more modern. On the plus
side, you’ve got a traveling mirror as well! Lipstick and powder
checking made easy.
Step 3: The Pump
– For height purposes, you’ll need a standard pump to make an entrance.
Pick a shoe with small details that’ll shine briefly when kicking up
your feet on the dance floor.
And with that, you’re all set to dominate the Gala. Effortlessly sexy
never looked so powerful.
